Does what it says on the tin October 24, 2008 Pink Sapphire (England) 29 out of 32 found this review helpful
I've been using Norton products for a very long time, and they have never let me down. On older machines, Norton is likely to slow them down, but newer ones seem more than able to deal with it. I have seen virtually no slow down in processing speed. It is a bit tricky getting the second and third PC protected if you have bought the product online, as you have to wind our through the menus to find that option to download it. I find that Norton will start a system scan to check for viruses etc every so often, and this can slow things down a little. You do have the option to pause, stop or ignore the scan and you can always start one whenever you wish. Bottom line: simple to download, install and run; and, your system is protected.
A Loyal Norton User November 22, 2008 Timothy Roberts (N. Ireland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This has been 6 years that I've been using Norton. I feel safe going online with it and have never had a virus dispite surfing the net everyday. People have often complained to me that Norton slows down their PC. Well in the past it has affected mine, but it was a small price to pay. This new version however is a much less bulky program and hardly affects the PC at all. I have it on 2 Acer laptops too and they are far from high performance. They still run like a dream. You can't go wrong with this program for your family computers. Buy It.
Faster! November 23, 2008 Lee Simkins (United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been using Norton for the past 5 years, buying the latest upgrade each time. This time I was more cautious due to the many speed issues reported with the 2008 version, suffered also by my parents who had to remove Norton 08 due to 'start up' times that were close to 10 minutes. However I had not had any noticeable speed issues and having read several reviews on various PC Magazine sites that were commending Norton on the reduced 'weight' of the 2009 version I decided to remain loyal and bought the upgrade from Amazon - which as usual was the best price and was delivered quickly. It installed within about 10 minutes without any fuss whatsoever and the start up and close down of my computer is noticeably quicker than before with the scans being much faster.
The best security suite around January 3, 2009 Kaelidan (Milan, Italy) I'm going to keep it short: NIS 2009 is fast, light on computer resources, simple to use (maybe even excessively so), unobtrusive and has an excellent (in my own personal experience) support (including an automated update function which allows the program to download the updated signatures averagely every 5 minutes or so). Together with Kaspersky Internet Security the best choice on the market.
Best Norton Internet Security so far November 29, 2008 A Mazon 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have used Norton Internet Security software for the last 4 years. I did not like 2007 as it crashed my computer alot and also slow it down. (was free) move up to 2008 was much better than 2007, but still slowed down my computer and I did not like not knowing how much data live update was downloading. It also was not great at removing spyware. This 2009 version is like a completly different piece off software, its faster, easier to set up, everything is a lot clearer and it does it job well. If you are still using an older version upgrade now even if your subscription has not run out yet. Just use your old key until it does, then enter the new key.
